I’m a multi-faceted multi-tasking writer/creative type with 20+ years of developing ideas and content to help brands connect on an authentic, emotional level.
From copywriter up the ladder to ACD and Creative Director I’ve had the chance to shape and be shaped by some truly talented people. I love to concept and collaborate as a team, to challenge and be challenged, to pitch and present. I’ve developed the skills to write with empathy, inclusion, humor or whatever tone best serves the project. And I understand how purpose has a role in so much more than just feel-good pro-bono projects.
Work I’ve done has been featured in awards shows/books and – more importantly – generated considerable awareness and revenue for clients in a variety of industries including: Active Lifestyle, Mattress & Furniture, Healthcare, Hospitality & Tourism, B2B, Technology, Non-Profits, Food & Beverage and CPGs.
When I’m not clacking away behind a laptop I stay busy writing and playing music, riding horses, and coaching youth baseball and flag football. Go team.
Music
For several years I traveled the country as a working musician. The experience helped me learn how to engage an audience, read a room, have a ton of fun and pay some bills.
But the greatest reward of being in a band for me is crafting material. Just like with a creative team in advertising you share ideas, defend the ones worth fighting for and learn to compromise when it’s the best thing for the piece. And you never know where the next great inspiration will come from.
Below are a few samples off my band’s debut album that earned us nominations for Band, Album and Song of the Year by the Radio Milwaukee Music Awards.

THE ABILITY CENTER
I met founder and 2-time childhood cancer survivor Damian Buchman at a speaking engagement in late 2019 and now the guy can’t get rid of me. I chip in as photographer, wordsmith and sounding board whenever opportunities arise because his passion for helping everyone play together – regardless of ability – is infectious.
This organization has put Milwaukee on the map with the country’s most accessible beach and has plans to make Milwaukee the most inclusive city in the US.

KINGDOM PREP LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL
The young men who attend Kingdom Prep are a special group of people who come together everyday with the mission of joining a brotherhood in Christ for lives of purpose.
Along with the leadership of the students, I’m part of a small outside group currently helping to concept, design, demo, build and operate a working cafe/coffee shop in place of the dated concession stand in the school.

HORSES FOR HEROES
From taking pictures, to working trail rides to scooping horse apples, it’s an honor to share time with and serve the great men and women who have served us.
Photography
The first wedding I ever shot I was a nervous wreck. I forgot my suit at home 2 hours away, the backup camera I rented broke before we even started and my wife was 8+ months very pregnant.
Photography is still more a way to see the world around me a little differently than anything else. But when the occasional wedding, or engagement photo op, or family gathering gig comes around it’s pretty cool to be a part of it all.
I love catching the moments inside of moments.
